Jamison Celtic Rock takes the stage at the great sports bar, Nick’s Roast Beef, 4501 Woodhaven Road West in Northeast Philly. The show starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday, April 17
If you’re across the Delaware, join the Ancient Order of Hibernians Commodore John Barry Division 1 in National Park, N.J., for a big clean-up at Beach Hill, right along the river near the AOH clubhouse, the Fort Mercer Club. The cleanup begins at 9 a.m. The beach is littered with trash and debris, and the AOH plans on prettying things up. Meet at the Fort Mercer Club, 200 Columbia Boulevard in National Park. The more, the merrier, and a great cause.
If your kid is interested in learning Irish athletics, pop them into the SUV and drive them to Haverford Reserve Fields, 6309 Parkview Drive in Haverford, for an introductory lesson. The Delco Gaels are hosting the event. It’s for kids 4-18. They can learn how to play Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. If you have no idea what those are—and no hurling jokes, trust me, we’ve heard them all and they stopped being funny for us in 2006—here is your chance to learn what they’re about, too. Gaelic games are a vital part of your heritage. It’s from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
And one month after St. Patrick’s Day, The Shantys host a night of Irish tunes at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, 9130 Academy Road in the Great Northeast. The fun starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Can’t argue with free.

The terrific Luke Jardel headlines at the Red Rooster, 7960 Dungan Road in the Northeast, starting at 3 p.m.
