You might want to pack your sunscreen and head down the shore. Plenty of live tunes there. Or you can stick closer to home and check out some traditional Irish music in Bucks County. Plus, more excitement to come.

Friday, June 25
Jamison Celtic Rock will rock the house at Seaport Pier in North Wildwood, starting at 6 p.m. You’ll find Seaport Pier at 2201 Boardwalk. You could hardly ask for a more summer-y location, down along the Irish Riviera.
Saturday, June 26
Jamison Celtic Rock is back, this time at The Inlet, 101 East Walnut Avenue, North Wildwood. The show begins at 6 p.m.
It’s a bit far afield, but if you’re a fan of the John Byrne Band, it’s worth a little jaunt. The band will be playing at the Tap at Humboldt Beer Depot, 563 Can Do Expressway (you must admire their optimism), 18202, Hazle Township. It’s from 8 to 11 p.m.
Sunday, June 27
The Dubliner on the Delaware hosts its traditional Irish music session, starting at 3 p.m., for those of you who want to play along with like-minded musicians or for those who just want to give it a listen. A guaranteed good time. The Dubliner is at 34 North Main Street in New Hope, Bucks County.
And … it’s Jamison unplugged, continuing their beach residency, at North Shore Bar & Kitchen, 301-303 New York Avenue in North Wildwood, starting at 6 p.m.
Looking Ahead
Don’t forget the big summer fund-raiser for the Commodore John Barry Arts and Cultural Center (the Irish Center), Sunday, July 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tip O’Leary’s, 300 West Chester Pike in Havertown. If the Philly Irish community could be said to have a beating heart, the Irish Center is it.
There’ll be music, light food and raffles a-plenty—including a raffle for a week in Wildwood. You can buy your tickets here online, or at the door. All for a very good cause. $25 per person.
It’s out there a bit, but we wanted to help spread the word: Mick Moloney and Friends will be back at St. Malachy’s Church, 1429 North 11th Street in North Philly, November 7 for their annual musical benefit for St. Malachy’s School. If you have never been, plan to go.
Friends so far include some of the absolute rock star Irish musicians, including (so far) Athena Tergis, Liz Hanley, Billy McComiskey, and John Roberts. We’ve gone countless times and this event never fails to satisfy.
