Saturday, February 13
Jamison Celtic Rock fiddler Alice Marie and Shaun Durnin play Haggerty’s Café, 2373 MacDade Boulevard in Holmes, from 7 to 11 p.m. A pretty nice start to your weekend.
If you’re shore-bound, Neil Mac Thiarnáin and Moira Fanning play the Anglesea Pub, 116 West 1st Avenue, North Wildwood, starting at around 9 p.m.
Sunday, February 14
Love is in the air—with a bit of Irish music as the Valentine’s Day soundtrack—as the Shantys take the stage at the Fainting Goat, 105 South MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden. The show starts at 5 p.m.
And more Valentine’s Day tunes are on tap as Alice Marie returns, this time with Jamison front man Frank Daly, at O’Jung’s Tavern, 1625 South 2nd Street, Philadelphia, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, February 16
What happens if you suffer a life-altering medical condition and you’re incapable of making critical care choices for yourself? Don’t leave it to chance. Learn more about how to select a health care agent—a person who can make those decisions on your behalf—at a Zoom presentation hosted by the Irish Diaspora Center. Running from 7 to 8 p.m., the event features Robert DeLong, an attorney specializing in elder care, estate administration and estate planning. Email alanna@icphila.org to register.
Wednesday, February 17
The Irish Diaspora Center is also hosting a virtual town hall featuring guests Consul General Ciarán Madden and U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon. The discussion is expected to be wide-ranging. You’re invited. More info here.

There’s a Walk for Wellness challenge going on right now, to benefit the Irish Diaspora Center’s CHAT program counseling fund. CHAT provides mental health counseling services for those in need. And, if you love Irish film and you’re looking for a way to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day season safely, the Capital Irish Film Festival is online March 4-14. Topping the bill is the Irish language film “Arracht.” Details here: https://capitalirish.eventive.org/films
