It’s Delco Gaels Night at the Races at JD McGillicuddy’s, 8919 West Chester Pike in Upper Darby. The event benefits the Gaels’ Feile team heading to Ireland this summer. They’re off and running at 7 p.m. and it costs $30 to get in. Horse and race sponsorship opportunities are available.

Saturday, January 11
Check out Poker Night, sponsored by Kevin Barry Gaelic Football Club, at Con Murphy’s Irish Pub, 1700 Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Center City. It all starts at 8 p.m. and costs $100 to enter. Good luck!
Also, Shaun Durnin appears at McNally’s on Rhawn, 427 Rhawn Street, starting at 4 p.m. Durnin is well known in New York City and at the Ri Ra in Atlantic City.
Sunday, January 12
The Next Generation group of young musicians gets together for a tune lesson and session (every second Sunday for the last two decades) at the Irish Center, 6815 Emlen Street in Mount Airy. Kids are invited to learn some tunes with Chris Brennan Hagy, Kathy DeAngelo and Dennis Gormley. It starts at 1 p.m.
Right after the Next Gen, bring your youngsters to the Irish Center to learn some Irish dancing under the tutelage of the great Rosemarie Timoney. The Ceili Og begins at 3 p.m. To learn more, read our story. Pass the hat donations and potluck contributions are very welcome.
Friday, January 17
Seamus, CJ and Dan are scheduled to appear at Nick’s Roast Beef Woodhaven, 4501 Woodhaven Road, in the Great Northeast. The merriment begins at 9:30 p.m. Come on out for tunes and pints.
