Something new this week, and something else you’d have to have lived under a rock to have missed.
Let’s start with what you know—Celtic Woman. The troupe’s Ancient Land tour rolls into Lancaster Saturday night at the American Music Theatre, 2425 Lincoln Highway East. The show starts at 8 o’clock. So if you missed out on their Academy of Music show Thursday night—or if you just can’t get enough and you want to see them again—here’s your chance.
You can order your tickets here.
Also a reminder, we interviewed CW violinist Tara McNeill. You might want to give it a listen.
If you’re within driving distance of Westville, N.J., there’s an All Set Dance Occasion Sunday afternoon at Xavier Hall Westville Square, 201 Broadway. It all starts at 1:30 p.m. Dancing to CDs and occasional live music. The all essential tea will be served, as will be coffee and water, but you are invited to bring sweets—the fuel of dancers everywhere. This is the dance’s 25thyear. Strap on your dancing shoes and go.
On the new side, this Wednesday marks the beginning of a traditional Irish music session at Moriarty’s Pub, 1116 Walnut Street in Center City. The session will be held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. It starts at 8:30 p.m. and runs for a couple of hours. If you play an Irish musical instrument—no tubas or bongos, please—you’re invited to play along. If not, just come and listen.
Thursday, Eileen O’Donnell—chair and CEO of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and the granddaughter of four Irish-born grandparents—will be the guest speaker at a Women in Leadership Luncheon, at the Pyramid Club, 1735 Market Street in Center City. The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. Her Irish credentials are pretty substantial. In 2017, she received the Taoiseach Award from the Irish American Business Chamber & Network. She was also named one of the Wall Street 50 by Irish America Magazine, and was inducted into the Business Excellence Institute’s Hall of Fame in Dublin.
There will also be a fireside chat and Q&A session moderated by Irish Chamber Corporate Member, Danielle L. McNichol, Esq., general counsel and director for Center for Leadership at Neumann University.
See you next time!
